utorrent pro is being quarantined even when it's in the Exclusions list.  I restore it from quarantine and as soon as I open a torrent file, it gets quarantined again. Often malwarebytes forces me to reboot, and when I do, utorrent has been deleted.
My only solution thus far is to disable malwarebytes entirely.  Disabling web protection does not help.  I need malwarebytes to allow utorrent pro.  Please describe how I can make malwarebytes allow utorrent to run and open torrent files without being quarantined.

Thank you,

DrD

  • Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
  • In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
  • Run the MBST Support Tool
  • In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
  • In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine

Here it is:

You need to exclude the following FOLDER C:\Users\doug\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent

And exclude the following FILE A:\Downloads\utweb_installer.exe

Then do the following.

To exclude these items you need to perform a scan (a Threat scan or Hyper scan should do) and then at the end when it shows the list of detection's, uncheck any item that you do not want removed and click Next.  When prompted on what to do with the remaining unchecked items, select Ignore Always and they will be added to your exclusions and will no longer be detected by future scans.

Also keep in mind,

File sharing involves using technology that allows internet users to share files that are housed on their individual computers. Peer-to-peer (P2P) applications, such as those used to share music files, are some of the most common forms of file-sharing technology. However, P2P applications introduce security risks that may put your information or your computer in jeopardy.  Risks of File-Sharing Technology
