NguyenDucManh Posted January 23, 2022 ID:1498728 Share Posted January 23, 2022 I don't know why but when I clicked the download button, then it took about 10 seconds to let me choose where I want to save that file! I tried to restart my laptop but didn't work. Then I remove Malwarebytes extension and everything went back to normal (it instantly showed the download pop up after I clicked download). Actually Idk what that pop up is called:/ So I attached the video below. Thanks for any help:( This really driven me crazy everytime I want to download something sample.pdf - Google Chrome 2022-01-23 11-11-22.mp4 One more thing that the xbox recorder on my laptop hide the download pop up butttttt I hope u know it:/ Link to post

Seems so, Since there have been many posts about it, developers will look into it on Monday but might take time to correct if it is correctable. 1 Link to post
1PW Posted January 23, 2022 ID:1498775 Share Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) Hello @gatortail: I too, like @Porthos, experience a considerable delay (~15-16 seconds) before the download dialog window appears using the topic starter's example URL: https://africau.edu/images/default/sample.pdf I have removed the previous up-to-date MBG 2.3.15 and replaced it with the one that currently lives on the Chrome Web Store (still v2.3.15) and restarted Chrome for good measure. Also, Google Chrome's cache has been cleared. Even if MBG 2.3.15 is made to issue a Factory Reset followed by forcing all protection settings to be grayed out, the 15-16 second delay persists for the above download dialog box to appear. Google Chrome: 97.0.4692.99 MBG: 2.3.15 macOS 12.1 Monterey - MBP18,1 HTH As an afterthought, I have secured the previous version of Google's installer .pkg file (97.0.4692.71) which has been signed with a validated digital signature. As is Google's way, this installer file lacks an Apple notarization. If Malwarebytes devs/staffers are interested, I can fallback to this. I also can fallback from a Mac Time Machine backup if need be. Edited January 24, 2022 by 1PW Updated gathered observations. 1 Link to post
Porthos Posted January 23, 2022 ID:1498776 Share Posted January 23, 2022 I wonder if the last security update for Chrome is causing this. https://blog.malwarebytes.com/exploits-and-vulnerabilities/2022/01/update-now-chrome-patches-critical-rce-vulnerability-in-safe-browsing/ 1 Link to post

I can confirm I'm having this delayed download pop up too on Edge Version 97.0.1072.69 with Malwarebytes Browser Guard enabled. Disabling MBG makes the download pop up work again without any delay. I do have full confidence in Malwarebytes to rectify this though, as they're usually very good with this. 2 Link to post

1PW Posted January 25, 2022 ID:1499027 Share Posted January 25, 2022 Late yesterday (Monday, 1/24/22), Google's Chrome Web Store published, and has pushed, the MBG v2.3.16 extension. As my own tests of Chrome show the delay is now gone, I believe the issue can be treated as resolved. Thank you to all.
