Hi,

Everytime I open Malwarebytes some time after login in my profile, it gives me the "Unable to contact update server. Please check your Internet connection" error. This error doesn't happen until some time passes after logon. This happened after i needed to format factory my windows, I changed some parts on my build, so I had to reinstall windows all again. Also I had to install an offline mode malwarebytes version that I've found here on the forums looking for help. I've installed the last version avaiable from the site, but everytime I tried to install it got stuck at 5%.

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, but I'm still getting the same error. I've even used the MiniToolBox Tool and MbSupport-1.8.7.918 after seeing a similar post to gather some info (MTB.txt and mbst-grab-results.zip).

Thanks for your attention.

Your zip was meeting an important set of logs.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.
You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well.

Thank you

But no, I didn't fix anything. :(

OK for the next step you need to find the CMD in win 11. Things got move around. See here for how to access it,be sure to right click and run it as administrator.

https://www.makeuseof.com/windows-11-open-command-prompt/

Then do the following. Open an Elevated Admin command prompt and copy / paste the following and press the Enter key. You should get a success message.

reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters" /v "DisabledComponents" /t REG_DWORD /d 32 /f

Then restart the computer and see if it works

This will set the IP preference to use IPV4 instead of IPV6 as recommended by Microsoft without actually disabling IPV6

Let me know if that helps correct the issue for you.
