Demo not opening, just opens Terminal

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post of if the answer has been posted before, I did browse the site to check but couldn't find a solution.

 

I downloaded the package from the site to run the demo on my MBP 2016 machine running BigSur.   It downloaded and installed fine, but when I try to run the software it won't open.    It opened Terminal with some log information.   I then realised there was an OS update so I downloaded and installed Monterey however now Terminal doesn't even open with the log when trying to open Malwarebytes.   When asking if I want to submit a report this is the log information I am given:

What you observed in Terminal was a crash report, but according to that you are trying to launch an extremely old version 1.2.6.730! I can't figure out where you could have downloaded that from currently. I believe Malwarebytes for Mac is now up to v4.13.5. The demo, free and premium software versions are exactly the same.

The download link for the current version that should run on your current macOS 12.1 is https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb-mac.

I'd be very interested in finding out where you downloaded that. Did you find it somewhere on our website, or did you find it elsewhere? As Al points out, that's an EXTREMELY outdated version of the software that is well past end-of-life and is no longer supported (and that crashes on any recent versions of macOS). If you got it from somewhere on our site, I'd definitely like to find out where.
