Where's a clear explanaton of precisely what trial version doesn't do?

As an ex-technician, who still helps people and takes the occasional

client, I like  to know what I'm recommending when I recommend something.

I just installed a 4-day trial of MBAM on a client's machine, and there was no option

to quarantine or disinfect items.

Does MBAM's trial version only do scans, or can it disinfect and/or quarantine?

I can't find anything like that anywhere, and the language that I read on the download

page for the trial version was extremely vague and nebulous. I have to assume

that was done on purpose.

You have used Malwarebytes before from your past posts.

  • Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
  • In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
  • Run the MBST Support Tool
  • In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
  • In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine
  • A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your desktop, please upload that file on your next reply

Porthos, I always appreciate your excellent help.

But this is not the same install. I bought licenses for

my PCs. The case I'm asking about now is for another,

client's PC. I have no access to it right now.

Scans are running fine, I just need to know where the

buttons are to clean, disinfect, quarantine.

Thanks, that's all I needed. So, can my client on the

trial version just go to the scan results, check off

what to quarantine, and click Quarantine?

Or does she have to do that immediately after

the scan runs? We ran the scan yesterday, and

I'd rather not do it again.

The fact is, it will only quarantine.

Quarantine is all it is supposed to do and has ever done. For Malwarebytes once it is quarantined it is harmless to the system.

Malwarebytes does not fix an infected file and has never claimed to.

Yes.

During a manual scan you have to choose to quarantine the detected files. During the scheduled scan with the trial or paid version it can be set to auto quarantine but many do not set it that way in case a legitimate file is detected.
