Dear Malwarebytes team,

InPlayer has noticed that our primary domain along with its subdomains (*.inplayer.com) have been blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard due to riskware concerns. Please see the attached screenshot.

We believe that our websites have been wrongfully classified as riskware.

I would like to kindly ask you to please re-scan our websites and remove the block as a matter of urgency, as this is negatively impacting our business, reputation and most importantly, our clients' trust.

Thank you,
Vesna Petrovska,
InPlayer

Thank you for your response.

We are looking into
dacast.inplayer.com currently. This finding is unexpected since VirusTotal scans up until this morning did not reveal any issues yet the domain was blocked. The finding relates to a js assets script which is an integral part of the WordPress theme. We're unsure as to why it shows as malware, and whether it is a false-positive, but we're looking into it specifically and will update this space.

That said, the block extends to *.inplayer.com. There are multiple unrelated sites under that domain and they are all affected by your block. Would it be possible for your to remove the block for *.inplayer.com, but retain the block for the affected site until we are looking into it?

Thank you!

  • 1 month later...

Dear Malwarebytes team,

We have started a new server and restored our website from a clean back up. We scanned it using Wordfence, which found no suspicious files and returned a clean report.

However, our website is still blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard. When scanning the website with VirusTotal, it is still being reported as malicious. VirusTotal does not reveal the specific files that are causing this issue, but it does reveal that only two security vendors are flagging the URL as malicious.

We assumed that the problem might be related to the domain, and not the website, so we waited more than a month in order to let the domain regain its reputation. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there are any changes - our website is still blocked.

I would like to kindly ask you to please re-scan our website (dacast.inplayer.com) and let us know if there's anything else we need to do on our part in order to get our website unblocked by Malwarebytes.

Thank you,
Vesna

Dear BjelakovicL,

That sounds great. Thank you very much!

I'll write an update here and we can close this thread once we've confirmed that our website has been unblocked after the next database update. By the way, when is this update expected to happen? I'm asking so we can know when to check next.

Thanks again!

Best,
Vesna
