McLoudMouth Posted December 3, 2021 ID:1491157 Share Posted December 3, 2021 This started around an hour ago, where AVG randomly gave me a notice telling me it blocked a threat from wpad. But I can't figure out where that malware is coming from, or how to stop it, I haven't downloaded anything recently, other than word documents and pdfs for university. Repair System: Includes various system-related repairs in case a Windows service is not functioning correctly that Malwarebytes for Windows is dependent on. It is not recommended to use any Repair System options unless instructed by a Malwarebytes Support agent. Anonymously help the community by providing usage and threat statistics: Unchecking this option will prevent Malwarebytes Support Tool from sending anonymous telemetry data on usage of the program. Malwarebytes Free does not offer real time protection. Malwarebytes Premium does offer real time protection. So if you want real time protection you have to buy a paid copy of Malwarebytes. Bill I was thinking of just depending on windows defender, because AVG uses up a lot of ram(same thing with Avast), while MalwareBytes uses up 100% of my CPU when I do scans. A lot of people use just Defender and the paid version of Malwarebytes. Personally, I use Norton 360 and the paid version of Malwarebytes.
