Ransomware protection corrupting save files for Brigand: Oaxaca

Hello,

I have an indie game on Steam called Brigand: Oaxaca. If Malwarebytes anti-ransomware is turned on, it makes the save game function take about 5 minutes instead of 5 seconds, and most players will force-quit the game, which then corrupts their save files. It's easy for each player to add an exception or disable the ransomware feature, but most players won't know to do this, and will instead refund the game.

I've been working with a tech support guy by email, then was referred to this forum. I really need my game white-listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can we please get some logs from an affected system

 

To begin, please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your installation for troubleshooting:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained are safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

• Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
• In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
• In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
• Run the MBST Support Tool
• In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
• In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine
• A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your desktop, please upload that file on your next reply

@blancaster45 - the logs provided seem to be from a system where Malwarebytes is not installed. We would need logs from a system which has experienced this behavior.

This issue should be resolved in the next release of Malwarebytes Premium. That release won't be until early January, but the build with the fix is now in Beta.
