Backdoor.Quasar detected on StreamDeck plugin for Cubase - Possible F.P.?

Hello,

 

Last Saturday Malwarebytes reported the ''Backdoor.Quasar'' ransomware on an executable file that was installed about a month ago on my PC.

The file is a .exe that is part of a plugin suite used for controlling the Cubase DAW from a StreamDeck controller.

Can you confirm if it's a false positive? (attached are my log and the .exe file).

Yes, this was a False Positive. You can restore from quarantine.

One more question: In a situation like this, when you acknowledge a false positive, is it immediately corrected in the Malwarebytes updates that we receive (almost on a daily basis)?

It is sent out usually in 2-4 hours.  By default Malwarebytes auto checks for updates every hour in the background.
