jsinfate Posted October 26, 2021 ID:1485564 Share Posted October 26, 2021 Hello, I have been having issues with Malwarebytes blocking Python. I disabled Malwarebytes and noticed that Python runs as usual. I noticed that Malwarebytes even blocks part of the uninstall of Python thinking it i part of an exploit. I am attaching the log from when I tried to uninstall Python: Malwarebytes.Python.txt

jsinfate Posted October 27, 2021 Author ID:1485706 Share Posted October 27, 2021 Hello, Thank you for your reply. I have whitelisted almost everything in the Python folder including the root folder. Interesting, I actually DID have pen testing enabled. I will disable it and test. Thank you.

barryallen Posted January 4, 2023 ID:1547871 Share Posted January 4, 2023 Just ran into this problem myself. Sorry to drudge up an old thread but has anyone found a way to get around this without turning pen-testing off?

That setting is off by default for a reason. That setting is specific to penetration testing (i.e. not actual threats) so enabling won't really do anything unless the system is tested using third party testing tools/test exploits. It is purely for testing purposes to verify that protection is working properly, however it is not needed for protecting your system from actual malware which is why it is turned off by default. I hope that helps to clarify things and if there is anything else we might help with please let us know.

barryallen Posted January 4, 2023 ID:1547875 Share Posted January 4, 2023 Yeah the way that one reads is definitely a bit confusing. Makes it sound like you're getting protected from these guys
