Issue with updating Malwarebytes Browser Guard

Hello! For some reason, I am having an issue where whenever I would go to the support page to click "update" in the add-on, it would give an error and say to try again. I restarted my browser, and the issue was gone. Is there any way to prevent this from occuring again, as this issue may prevent me having the latest malware definitions? Or, should I just not worry? How often do these definitions in the browser guard actually get updated?

Thank you so much! :)

Do you leave you browser open for days on end?

Have you tried to uninstall Browser Guard and restart the browser and reinstall?

I usually keep my browser open from a few days up to 2 weeks as it helps with my productivity since my tabs remain open. Is this not something I should be doing?

The issue was gone after I just restarted my browser, and since then the issue has not yet reoccured.

Thanks for your reply!

It is not me to say how you work, Just pointing a possible cause of your issue. I personally close my browser at least every 24-36 hours and I do not open my browser with all the tabs resuming.

Being someone who hates reboots AND hates resources being tied up unnecessarily, I keep multiple browsers open, each with multiple tabs. I also watch Task Manager constantly.  Firefox and Chrome both know how to deal with opening and closing a single browser window, but not more than one. That means I have to use Task Manager to crash my browsers when closing them is required.  They will detect a disorderly shutdown and restore all my tabs.  That works well...most of the time.  After a session with Google Maps (and everything else I was doing in Chrome) and a new Chrome window with Google Earth, memory leaks blew my network stack and a computer restart was required.  Long story short, your (and my) browsing habits serve us well, except when they don't.  An occasional browser restart works wonders, as does an occasional computer restart.
