Hello,

My malwarebytes today picked up RedlineStealer and asked me to quarantine it.

Not sure how I got it but now concerned about my pc.

What are the steps I need to do to see if this was a false positive or indeed the real thing?

Please let me know.

Thank you

Hey, not a staff member but was also tied up about the RedlineStealer virus.
In terms of the virus, where was it located? You can check this by looking at the scan logs yourself and checking the location at where the virus was found. This will help you establish if the virus is a false positive or the real thing.

If your query is in regards with the OSU game files and registry key, a staff member has responded updating the situation in another post, stating that the false positive has been fixed.
However, you'll probably have to share the scan logs so the staff can take a look for you and go from there.

Hope this helped.

Hey, thanks for responding.

Yes, actually it was the OSU and registry key that popped up.

Has this happened to others as well recently?

It totally freaked me out.

I would still like to share my logs to verify, how do I go about getting this ready for a staff member/moderator?

Thank you.

Evening, no worries.

Fortunately or unfortunately it has happened to me and others as well. It really got my heart beating too haha.

As mentioned above, a staff member has responded in that particular post that has been linked. You can check it out by just clicking on the underlined text.
It is a false positive, and (very) fortunately there appears to be nothing to be worried about.

I am new so I may not be completely correct, but here is how I did it if you still want to get it ready for a staff member to have a look:
1. Go to your Malwarebytes, click on "detection history" and then click on the "history" tab.
2. Then if you hover over one of the detections, an eye icon appears on the right side.
3. Click on that eye icon, and it brings up a pop-up. Then press "export to TXT" located at the bottom left, and export it to your PC
4. Attach that TXT file to a message on here.
5. Wait until a staff member responds

Hope this helps as well.
