I've seen some statements from 3-5 years ago saying that Malwarebytes only detects "malicious" keyloggers and leaves the commercial ones alone. However, I've also read that most keyloggers on macbooks are "legitimate" keyloggers unknowingly installed alongside software. Does Malwarebytes detect all kinds of keyloggers on a macbook, or does it only single out the ones flagged as malicious?

Malwarebytes does indeed detect all known keyloggers, both malware that incorporates keylogging and so-called "legitimate" keyloggers. The latter are detected as "potentially unwanted programs" (PUPs), since they are technically legitimate but are very often misused, and people should be aware if they have such spyware installed on their computer.
