A fix for one aspect of MB404104 Error

I have been suffering from quite a few instances of MB404104 error where my machine will not connect and then times out.  I had tried several things to no avail.  The recent Windows upgrade muddied the waters for me.

However, totally separately I was looking at the logs of my TP-Link Deco Mesh Router system which has a built-in Trend Firewall.  I noticed it was claiming very frequently to have "protected" me from a "Proxy Avoidance" attack.  The details were that it had blocked a connection to ipv4.am.i.mullvad.net .  A little further digging turned up that the MalwareBytes Privacy system makes some use of I am mullvad .

So I went back to the Deco management suite and put ipv4.am.i.mullvad.net on its Malicious Content Filter Whitelist.

And suddenly my MB404104 problems have gone.

Obviously not a fix for everybody, but perhaps somebody else out there is suffering from the same set of circumstances.  Perhaps MalwareBytes people need to talk to the Trend Micro people to get the software whitelisted by them.

Cheers
