Black Screen and Cursor after logging in

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My computer seems to be infected with something, don't know what it is but after googling around for a solid 30 minutes, I've come to the conclusion that something is up. The Winlogon Shell is changed to "cmd.exe /k start cmd.exe" and whenever I try to change it, it reverts itself back to what it was after I reboot my PC. I've browsed around and so far, nothing has worked so it would be great if someone could help me through this.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Hiya McHardWooD,

Thanks for the log, continue:

Save the attached file fixlist.txt to your flash drive, same place as FRST.
Now please enter System Recovery Options as you did to get the log.

Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt) please post it to your reply.

See if your system will boot into windows normally...

Thank you,

Kevin

Can you boot to the Recovery Environment again, From Toubleshoot window select "Advanced Options" from the new window select "System Restore" from there follow the prompts to use System Restore...

There are two restore points showing in the FRST scan:

Restore point date: 2021-08-31 16:23
Restore point date: 2021-09-05 14:30

Try the one dated from 31st Aug....

Any change..?
