Computer slow to get going.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This Dell XP SP-2 machine is slower than it should be to get going. After it's on for about 5 minutes it's OK. It had no Internet Access. I found that it was set to use a dial-up connection. I've run the usual SAS, MBAM, ESET and F-Secure on-line scans. None are reporting threats except for Tracking Cookies. I don't know why Tracking Cookies keep coming up.

This morning after doing a chkdsk /r and rebooting, I received a message that 'You or a program requested information for paul-pusw3yada. Which connection do your want to use.' One of the user accounts on this machine is Paul, but I hadn't logged into that account. So I'm suspicious.

In the following log, I see Runonce lines in -04. Should they be there? Is there anything else that looks wrong? Thank you.
