Greetings,

Please do the following so that we may take a closer look:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply

Also, if you haven't done so already, I'd recommend installing the latest beta which has been indicated to correct this issue as indicated in this post, though it also mentions that the fix is yet to be confirmed by testing.

To install the beta, please open Malwarebytes and access settings by clicking the small gear icon in the upper right, then scroll down to the Beta updates section under the General tab and toggle the option for beta updates to the right to enable it and confirm when prompted, then scroll back to the top and click the Check for updates button and allow it to install the update.

Once the beta is installed, restart your system and test to see whether the issue has now been corrected and let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Thank you, I've pinged a member of our team who has been investigating this issue to see about having you test a potential fix.  If you're up to it, he has a new file version to swap for one of Malwarebytes' existing program files which should hopefully correct the issue.

If you don't want to try that fix, please let me know and I will provide instructions for a workaround that will eliminate the error until the fix is rolled out in a future Malwarebytes release.

Please let us know how you'd like to proceed.

Thanks

A new beta of Malwarebytes has been released which should address this issue.  Please refer to the info in this post for details.

If you wish to install the beta, first close any web browsers where you have the Malwarebytes Browser Guard add-on installed, otherwise you will likely need to reboot after installing the beta, then do the following:

  • Open Malwarebytes and navigate to settings by clicking the small gear icon in the upper right
  • Under the General tab scroll down near the bottom and enable the option listed under Beta updates and confirm that you want to allow beta updates when prompted
  • Scroll back to the top of the General tab and click the Check for updates button under the Application updates section

If you try the beta, please let us know if it resolved the issue you were experiencing or not.

Thanks

Thanks for letting us know.  If it isn't fixed after reboot, please try a clean install, then upgrade to the beta again to see if that fixes the issue.  Instructions follow:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Clean button, and allow it to restart your system and then reinstall Malwarebytes, either by allowing the tool to do so when it offers to on restart, or by downloading and installing the latest version from here

Once Malwarebytes is reinstalled, open it and go to settings again and enable beta updates and update as detailed below:

  • Open Malwarebytes and navigate to settings by clicking the small gear icon in the upper right
  • Under the General tab scroll down near the bottom and enable the option listed under Beta updates and confirm that you want to allow beta updates when prompted
  • Scroll back to the top of the General tab and click the Check for updates button under the Application updates section

Please let us know if that fixed the issue or not.

Thanks

After a restart the IG.EXE file i previously blocked to internet asked again to be allowed.

Following the allowed treat as system file, it seems to be ok.

Also started a scan, but after update i closed it. Then closed MWB.

Nothing popped up yet.

SO, Explain exactly what 'IG.exe' does and why are you sending back file data this way??

Also, the cloud server also contains the whitelisting server to avoid False positives.

Much of Malwarebytes functions are cloud based.
