My Email associated with my lifetime membership disappeared.

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

My account seems to have disappeared or hijacked.  The last pw reset I did was back early last year and have email proof of that. However I noticed that my account ended up in a trial account and for some odd reason I couldn't log in.
I went to reset my password and it stated that there was no account associated with my email. Which puzzled me even more.. So I found my lifetime membership card (That has the ID and KEY) and entered it in on my computer to see if I can login and to my surprise.. its associated with someone's computer!
This all started to become more and more odd.. I checked to see if I can create a new account under that same email and what do you know. You can create a new account using that same email I associated my lifetime membership card with.
It seems that whoever hijacked it, Deactivated my key, DELETED my account, and its gone..

I been going back and forth with support stating that my account has be hijacked or deleted but they keep saying I dont have any active subscriptions.
At this point I'm furious because I cant get ahold of someone that can take a look at this deeper and the fact that my account is deleted and that someone stole my ID and KEY. I have proof of purchase as well as the physical card that has the ID and KEY and support is next to nothing in helping me.
Any help?

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for posting in the Malwarebytes for Windows Help forum.

If you are having technical issues with our Windows product, please do the following:

Malwarebytes Support Tool - Advanced Options

This feature is designed for the following reasons:

  • For use when you are on the forums and need to provide logs for assistance
  • For use when you don't need or want to create a ticket with Malwarebytes
  • For use when you want to perform local troubleshooting on your own

How to use the Advanced Options:

Spoiler
  1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  3. Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  4. Navigate to the Advanced tab
  5. The Advanced menu page contains four categories:
    • Gather Logs: Collects troubleshooting information from the computer. As part of this process, Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) is run to perform a complete diagnosis. The information is saved to a file on the Desktop named mbst-grab-results.zip and can be added as an email attachment or uploaded to a forum post to assist with troubleshooting the issue at hand.
    • Clean: Performs an automated uninstallation of all Malwarebytes products installed to the computer and prompts to install the latest version of Malwarebytes for Windows afterwards. The Premium license key is backed up and reinstated. All user configurations and other data are removed. This process requires a reboot.
    •  Repair System: Includes various system-related repairs in case a Windows service is not functioning correctly that Malwarebytes for Windows is dependent on. It is not recommended to use any Repair System options unless instructed by a Malwarebytes Support agent.
    • Anonymously help the community by providing usage and threat statistics: Unchecking this option will prevent Malwarebytes Support Tool from sending anonymous telemetry data on usage of the program.
  6. To provide logs for review click the Gather Logs button
  7. Upon completion, click OK
  8. A file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your Desktop
  9. Please attach the file in your next reply.
  10. To uninstall all Malwarebytes Products, click the Clean button.
  11. Click the Yes button to proceed.
  12. Save all your work and click OK when you are ready to reboot.
  13. After the reboot, you will have the option to re-install the latest version of Malwarebytes for Windows.
  14. Select Yes to install Malwarebytes.
  15. Malwarebytes for Windows will open once the installation completes successfully.

The support desk is the only ones that have the access to correct this. Have you already provided support you proof of purchase?

HI Porthos,

Yes, I have provided proof of purchase and the actual card with the ID and KEY. Yet they kept misreading everything and kept saying they dont see any active subscription and that I would have to talk to newegg about it.
It's been about 6-7+ years since that purchase...

Was it a boxed product purchase? If it was just a key purchase, then there might be an issue there. I have seen some 3rd party sellers sell unauthorized keys on sites like newegg and others.

I feel your frustration. I suggest you keep on support and appeal their findings.

Yes, It was before Newegg migrated to there new owners (Before third party vendors). So everything was in fact genuine.
I will keep trying. This whole situation is just abysmal. How does my account get straight deleted with no notice and how is my key still activate?!

Hi Again Porthos,

Entering only the license states the following.. I have also tried creating a new account and tried entering it and its still assigned to someone's account.
Someone is unfortunately using my key.

Some of those lifetime keys were "oversold". They are single device keys and in some cases keys were sold to more than one person.

It was so bad this topic was created.

Correct, I saw this as well but this didn't effect me as I registered it specifically to an email after another support case. Where they told me to register it to an email. However that email is no longer active. Poof Gone.
