I was trying to purchase something on a website, and received a "website blocked due to trojan" browser message. I contacted the company for the website, and their response was - "(it sometimes happens) because our software has no developer signature from Microsoft. You can try to turn your AV software off before installing the Downloader. Also, you can try another web browser." I tried a few different browsers and got the same message. Would using a URL checker available on the internet be literally the only thing I could do to determine if it's a real trojan threat or not? And... what exactly does it mean to have "no developer signature from Microsoft"? Is that a genuine reason for causing an incorrect website block? Porthos Posted May 27, 2021 ID:1459933 Share Posted May 27, 2021 Sounds like the main site or something you clicked on the main site redirected you to a bad site and Malwarebytes protected you. It looks like it was blocked due to this path: http://seyarabata.com/5f2ed8eabca40 led to https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/6d9e16a93c44f94d258ea6442a4e8bb0c58e1291f3126b3b77b0dd89d34f7208/detection But it does appear to be a false positive.
