Do I transfer to a new HD the same was as to a new device?

I presume that with a new HD it's basically a new device, but just want to check. I've got Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO which is a lifetime sub. One of the many things I need to do before changing hard drives.

If you are reinstalling Windows yes. Please deactivate Malwarebytes first.

If you are cloning/imaging to a new drive then no issue.

Also

To move your license from one device to another you should first deactivate your license key on the existing device as described in this support article then you may activate the software on your new device.

I would also suggest signing up for an account at My.Malwarebytes.com if you haven't done so already.  Instructions on doing so can be found in this support article.  Once you're signed up you will be able to manage your Malwarebytes product licenses from any computer using a web browser and you'll be able to see the status of each license and the device(s) they are active on.

Thanks. I think that answers my question. I'm reinstalling Windows, want to do a clean start without copying over all the junk I've accumulated.

I think Greg has an excellent article on how to set up a new install - I don't agree with him though about the use of an Online account but that's my personal preference not to use an Online account.
