Weird Copied Text

Recommended Posts

I encountered this problem last night. I was trying to paste something from the clipboard but then I saw this weird string of texts "geo:0,0?q=Skyworth%20CM5100". I was worried that maybe someone is spying on me or some things. It contains the model of my wireless modem and from soe searches, it seems that it a concerned with coordinates and locations. I wish someone can help me with this

We discussed this.  To elaborate...

Its very possible that the system communicates with your Modem+Router and uses the clipboard just like some programs use Environmental variables.

Let's look at the string...

geo:0,0?q=Skyworth%20CM5100

The Make and Model is evident but it also shows GEO and 0,0.

One may presume that 0,0 is the Latitude and Longitude and is passed by the variable 'q' set to Router Make and Model  in association with GeoIP.
