Cannot change my email address in my profile

I have read this: https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038522894-Change-my-email-address-in-My-Account

 

... but that does not work because the email address field is greyed out, and cannot be altered. The only option I have is to change my password, but that's it. I also cannot add a recovery email because that is greyed out as well.
