Why does it take so long to open malwarebytes?

Hello!

I have the same problem with there being a long delay before MB opens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled using your Support Tool, but it's made no difference. There don't seem to be loads of scan logs jamming up the system but I'm no expert! Please could you tell me what to do - as if to a complete novice - in order to get to the bottom of this issue? Great product by the way.

Hi @Wobbly thanks for letting us know about this issue. Could you please reply back with the following information to help us look into this:

1. How are you launching MB? Do you open from a desktop shortcut, the system tray shortcut, or some other method?
2. Approximately how many seconds does it take for MB to open after you launch?
3. Do you have an active license or are you using the product in a Free or Trial state?

Thanks for your reply. I'm launching MB from a system tray shortcut. Whereas it used to open almost instantaneously, it now takes approximately 12 seconds (not a major problem, obviously, but why's it happened?). I have an active licence.

Appreciate the feedback! Do you see any difference in the time it takes to launch MB if you open from a desktop shortcut instead of the system tray shortcut? Also, to the best of your memory, would you say this started happening in the last 1-2 months or has it been happening longer?

I'm afraid I can't answer your first question because I deleted the desktop shortcut after downloading MB and can't work out how to create another one! This issue has only arisen within the last 1-2 months.
