So currently I am unable to protect few devices like Roku / Apple tv. So I am planning to get a Raspberry-Pi installed with Windows 10 and connect it to the network switch and make all the traffic goes through that Raspberry pi so that my entire network is protected from any external threats. I agree that the network speed will be reduced as raspberrypi currently supports only 100Mbps. A VPN does not protect you from Malware issues, it only makes everybody think you are somewhere else.
