I am not able to remove Malwarebytes Anti-Malware MSI

Recommended Posts

I bought the new version of Malwarebytes.  I had the older version installed on it and I went to add/remove programs to remove the older ver.  Add remove program leaves behind Malwarebytes Anti-Malware MSI and I cannot uninstall it.  The Malwarebytes Remove program tools does it remove it either.  I need the registry changes that I need to make on the windows pc to remove it manually.  If someone has a suggestion please please assist.

Thanks

Hello @davidtabib

Did you try out MBST tool to do the removal?

Uninstall and reinstall Malwarebytes using the Malwarebytes Support Tool

If you did and the entry is still there, then run the MBST tool again but this time use the Advanced option and Gather Logs and post that back.

Upload Malwarebytes Support Tool logs offline

Thank you

I need logs so that I can assist you please @davidtabib

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.
You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well.

Thank you
