About the Android Privacy beta

Recommended Posts

  • Staff

The official Android Privacy beta has ended, and we are no longer giving out free time-limited license keys for testing. However, if you already have a Privacy license key, you can still participate.

To participate in the Android Privacy beta, you will need:

  • An Android device running Android 7.0 or higher
  • A Privacy license key

Reporting issues

Before you install, be sure to familiarize yourself with how to report issues. Keep us posted on anything unusual you see and feel free to ask if you have questions.

While participating in the beta, please go to Settings within the Malwarebytes Privacy app and enable the "Enable diagnostic mode" switch. This will ensure that logs are maintained on the device, in case you need to send us logs for any reason. (Note that the logs are entirely kept on your device, and are not sent to Malwarebytes unless you manually export it and send it to us.)

Installing the beta

To install and use the beta, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Allow installing applications from unknown sources in your Android phone settings.
  2. Download the Android Privacy beta and install it on your device:
  3. Open the app.
  4. Enter your license key when prompted.
