msdtadmin found in temp folder

Recommended Posts

Hello, so today while I was cleaning my temp folder, I noticed a folder named "msdtadmin", when I tried deleting it, it said I needed to provide administrator permissions, and when I tried opening it, it said "You dont currently have perissions to open this folder, Click HERE to get access"

Hiya ryzrn,

msdtadmin folder is a genuine windows folder that is used in troubleshooting process. The following quote is from Microsoft Community help agent:

Quote

MSDT stands for Microsoft Support Diagnostic Tool, it is a built-in tool in Windows that can be used to diagnose and troubleshoot Windows issues. This can be activated when you contacted a Microsoft Support Engineer and provided you with a PassKey. With regard to your query, one of the possible reasons why msdt and msdtadmin folders appear in your temp folder is when the tool has been used.

Does that help...?

Thank you,

Kevin
