Staff miekiemoes Posted January 14, 2021 Staff ID:1432223 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Hi, Please zip and attach the detection log where the detection is displayed together with the sample, so we can verify. Thanks!
ChromiumDomium Posted January 14, 2021 ID:1432241 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Hi, I'm getting the same detection, but this is post install of Surfshark, which has been in place since Mid December. I don't know where the logs are held? - I've switched from MBAM temporarily to prevent contention with the VPN. Greg
Staff miekiemoes Posted January 14, 2021 Staff ID:1432243 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Hi, Please see here how to get the logs: View Reports and History in Malwarebytes for Windows – Malwarebytes Support
ChromiumDomium Posted January 14, 2021 ID:1432244 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Hi, Ok, Sorry I'll have to re-install MBAM to replicate. I removed MBAM temporarily. did a run through with other scanners which didn't report as an issue. Then left with one of the others in-place, for now, while I find out what the issue is. If logs aren't stored in Users\<user>\Appdata or ProgramData etc. I'll need to re-install and re-scan and get back with report, when I get back to my home machine with issue. Staff miekiemoes Posted January 14, 2021 Staff ID:1432245 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Hi, The logs are stored in the C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\ScanResults folder Just open the recent logs there, where it shows this detection and attach it here
ChromiumDomium Posted January 14, 2021 ID:1432246 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Hi, I'll take a look when I get back and, if there - I'll post, although I'm fairly certain it was empty. If not I'll do as I mentioned earlier and forward log - unless other reports come in for same issue in interim. Regards, Greg
Staff miekiemoes Posted January 14, 2021 Staff ID:1432247 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Thanks a lot! It might also be possible this was fixed already though
Staff miekiemoes Posted January 14, 2021 Staff ID:1432252 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Hi, It won't be needed anymore, as this was just reported here as well where we have the logs and sample: Surfshark installer false positive - File Detections - Malwarebytes Forums - so this has been fixed now
