FRST need be run from desktop?

At a spanish forum forospyware.com when order to download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool, as a step at fix a pc, say than download and run from desktop (as well as the fixlist.txt provided later by one of the experts)

But here at Malwarebytes forums only remark than both FRST and fixlist must be at same directory

My question is if as say Malwarbytes forums, can be run from any folder, or must be desktop?

FRST can be run from pretty much any folder as long as FRST is able to save its files in the location it is run from.  Some forums have users run tools from their desktop for convenience so that the logs will be easy to locate and so that the tools do not have problems with saving files due to permissions.  When being assisted by a malware removal specialist it is best to follow their instructions to avoid any issues.
