i want to buy a 3 month license for a Software called Flixgrab  a Netflix Screen Recorder

https://www.flixgrab.com/

i did a scan of the Installer with bitdefender Internet security , Malwarebytes , and Virustotal all came Clean

the Software also has a digital signature

but the software is not popular and i did not find any good reviews for it on google

so my question how can i be sure the program is 100% free from viruses and malwares before buying a license for it

since i will be running it on my Main PC which is also connected to my local Network

Because of the legal issues and the highly possible suspension or cancellation of you Netflix account, I would not suggest it.

for if it Legal or Not

i found this on google

(((((Recording programs for viewing at a more convenient time is permitted by United States copyright law as fair use.  See Sony Corp. of America v. Universal City Studios, Inc., 464 U.S. 417 (1984), also known as the “Sony Betamax Case”.  So is recording programs for viewing in a more convenient place.  See Recording Indus. Ass’n of Am. v. Diamond Multimedia Sys., Inc., 180 F.3d 1072 (9th Cir. 1999). Those cases provide evidence of the right to use personal recordings for the purpose of time- or space-shifting.  See Lenz v.Universal Music Corp., 815 F.3d 1145, 1152 (9th Cir. 2016) (fair use is “a right” and engaging in fair use is “authorized by the law”)

We're not here to validate legality of such programs. That is up to you and your own lawyer. As far as if the program contains malware or not then yes submitting to Virus Total for scanning is one of the best choices.

If it has zero detections then it's reasonably assumed not to contain malware. Though it is also possible to have new threats that are specifically created to bypass automated detection.
