Hello,

I am having a issue with a slow internet connection on my desktop pc.  I am getting 25-30 Mbps whereas all other connected devices get near 300Mbps with either wired or wireless connection.  I had an issue with the Modem that an Xfinity tech resolved.

I have attached logs.  My son is a 2nd user on this pc, do i need to provide logs with him signed in as well?

Thanks

Hello @stanzig44

No promise, but we'll take a look and see what we can find. Please start by going to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and uninstall the following and reboot.

Bonjour
Java SE Development Kit 8 Update 241 (if you really need this the please look for an update which should be 271 at this time)

Not 100% sure but this crash appears to be an information collector for AMD experience. You may want to consider removing or disabling it from starting.

Please check and see what's going on with your System Restore Points. It looks like they're not working. If you need further assistance with this let me know.

Unless this is a new computer you might want to consider disabling this feature as well. Unlikely you'll get much of any updates on older computers. I can help you remove the service if wanted.

Description: The Dell Customer Connect service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

You appear to be running a very old Lync client. I thought that Microsoft stopped using this?

Your version of Google Chrome is way out of date. Please save what  you need, uninstall Google Chrome. Then if wanted, reinstall Google Chrome.

Please start with those, then restart the computer and let me know what you'd like to do about the above items.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Uninstalled – Bonjour and Java SE Development Kit 8 Update 241

Disabled AMD experience.

System Restore was turned off.  Turned on now.

Dell Customer Connect – Think I disabled and removed but not sure.  Can you help?

Can’t find anything Lync related to uninstall or disable.  Can you help?  I don't use Lync or Skype for that matter.

I updated Google Chrome and it appears up to date - Version 86.0.4240.193

Any other ideas to try?

So, this driver from 2014 appears to be from Comdo that supposedly is used for Backup. Are you using any part of Comdo software for backup or any other operations?

R2 COSService.exe; C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMMON\COSService.exe [3550400 2014-10-07] (Comodo Security Solutions -> COMODO Security Solutions)
R2 SynchronizationService.exe; C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMMON\SynchronizationService.exe [2575552 2014-10-07] (Comodo Security Solutions -> COMODO Security Solutions)

It looks like you're probably using  AOMEI for back ups?

Why do you have these "test" cert filter drivers installed? Do you still use them? They appear to be for some type of USB connection to Apple mobile devices? They're valid but if not used anymore you might consider removing them.

S3 AppleKmdfFilter; C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\AppleKmdfFilter.sys [20640 2018-05-10] (WDKTestCert build,131474841775766162 -> Apple Inc.)
S3 AppleLowerFilter; C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\AppleLowerFilter.sys [35560 2018-05-10] (WDKTestCert build,131474841775766162 -> Apple Inc.)

You also have multiple drivers for Comdo as though you have or had some type of Security software from Comodo installed at one point too but I don't see the installed program in the list. Are you using anything from Comodo on purpose still?

Please go ahead and answer the questions above on your next reply and go ahead and run the following fix.

Please download the attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop or location where you ran FRST from.
NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST or FRST64, and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

Please make sure you disable any real time antivirus or security software before running this script. Once completed make sure you re-enable it.

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on this particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system that cannot be undone.

Run FRST or FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If the tool needs a restart please make sure you let the system restart normally and let the tool complete its run after restart.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt) or wherever you ran FRST from. Please attach or post it to your next reply.

Note: If the tool warned you about an outdated version please download and run the updated version.

NOTE-1:  This fix will run a scan to check that all Microsoft operating system files are valid and not corrupt and attempt to correct any invalid files. It will also run a disk check on the restart to ensure disk integrity. Depending on the speed of your computer this fix may take 30 minutes or more.

NOTE-2: As part of this fix all temporary files will be removed. If you have any open web pages that have not been bookmarked please make sure you bookmark them now as all open applications will be automatically closed. Also, make sure you know the passwords for all websites as cookies will also be removed. The use of an external password manager is highly recommended instead of using your browser to store passwords.

The following directories are emptied:

  • Windows Temp
  • Users Temp folders
  • Edge, IE, FF, Chrome and Opera caches, HTML5 storages, Cookies and History
  • Recently opened files cache
  • Flash Player cache
  • Java cache
  • Steam HTML cache
  • Explorer thumbnail and icon cache
  • BITS transfer queue (qmgr*.dat files)
  • Recycle Bin

Important: items are permanently deleted. They are not moved to quarantine. If you have any questions or concerns please ask before running this fix.

The system will be rebooted after the fix has run.

fixlist.txt

Thanks
