Hello all,

Historically it has been generally unsafe to run two endpoint protection solutions concurrently.  However more recently it is our understanding that certain OEMs do suggest that their endpoint protection software may safely coexist with other solutions already in place.  Does anybody have any experience with this?  What are some of your best practices when it comes to running MalwareBytes concurrently with other solutions on the market?  Any experience or issues specifically with FortiEDR from Fortinet (formerly enSilo)?

Thanks!

Greetings,

It likely depends greatly on which solution you choose, as Malwarebytes offers both real-time protection/defense and incident response solutions (as well as combinations of both), however it likely wouldn't be a good idea to run any 2 solutions from different vendors in real-time leveraging the real-time protections of both as most solutions include behavior based protection and activity monitoring which could incur collisions and be a major drain on system performance and resources if both products are monitoring system activity at the same time.

That said, if you were to use a pure incident response solution alongside the real-time protection and monitoring of a different product, that should be OK.
