Malwarebytes Anti-exploit module and Java

Recommended Posts

I don't generally have Java Runtime Environment installed as I don't have any applications that require it, but recently I was thinking about downloading a program that requires JRE to be installed for it to run.

Now, I know Anti-Exploit covers the Java Runtime, would I be correct in assuming then that by doing so MBAM also covers the applications that need JRE to run, thus protecting them from exploits?

Yes, at least as far as those applications' use of JRE is concerned.  To execute functions requiring JRE, such apps (like Minecraft etc.) would need to launch JRE, and when they do so, JRE will be shielded by Exploit Protection as it should be.

At least that's my understanding of it.

I thought it might, I just wasn't totally sure.  Thanks for the explanation, exile360.
