Malwarebytes Firewall: Exclamation Mark in system tray

After a re-boot, I get the error message "Can't Connect to Malwarebytes Firewall Control Service".

After reading the troubleshooting manual, I found:

The service is not shown in the services.msc listing, but it is shown as running in the Task Manager listing.

Also the program will not open when I click on the desktop icon.  Please advice how to resolve this.  Thanks.   ...  Tom  ...
