Getting pop using Firefox 80.0.1.every time i go to a site. "Website blocked due to Trojan, mikkiload.com outbound 172.64.130.24.  Users\xxxx\appdata\local\mozillafirefox\firefox.exe"

Edge and Chrome fine unless I type in mikkiload.com and it is blocked by malwarebytes.

Think this happened when I used a music download site (used in past) yesterday.  Firefox went wonky.  I had weird stuff popping up.. Not sure how I got rid of the mess.

PcMatic did not show this threat :(.   I installed MB after this happened (was a user years ago, why did I stop).  Ran MB, only found 2 PUP, not the mikki.

Hello    :welcome:

My name is Maurice.  Let me know what name you prefer to go by.

Please know that the real-time web protection of the Malwarebytes for Windows is keeping the system safe from harm. It would truly help to see the logs from the block events kept by Malwarebytes as well as other details.    I can inform you that the upper 2 portions of that I P  address is one that has been flagged by the Malwarebytes real-time web protection as having harmful content.

I would appreciate  getting some key details from this machine.
NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

Do have patience while the report tool runs.  It may take several minutes.  Just let it run & take its time.  You may want to close your other open windows so that there is a clear field of view.
Download Malwarebytes Support Tool

Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
Double-click mb-support-1.7.0.827.exe  to run the report

Once it starts, you will see a first screen with 2 buttons.  Click the one on the left marked "I don't have an open support ticket".

You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.

Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
Now click the left-hand side pane "I do not have an open support ticket"

You will be presented with a page stating, "Get Started!"
Do NOT use the button “Start repair” !   But look instead at the far-left options list in black.

Click the Advanced tab on the left column

    Click the Gather Logs button

A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed with getting logs from your computer.  Please do have patience.  It takes several minutes to gather.

Upon completion, click a file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your Desktop. Click OK.  Then Exit the tool.

Please attach the ZIP file in your next reply.

Sincerely,

Maurice

PS.   Your system is being protected by Malwarebytes.   This is just a quick note to add,  when I did a PING on my own system to mikkiload ( dot ) com  I got a web protection Block notice that showed "Potential threat blocked"  about I P   172.64.131.24

The "trojan" is OUT there  at that domain  I P   172.64.131.24    ( on the web).   Not on your machine.

Thank you for the support tool report.   This situation will likely involve multiple passes, because I do not see a blatant reference to 'mikkiload '.

I did notice that there are at least a dozen open tabs on Firefox.   Please Close all of them and do a full Exit out of Firefox browser.

NEXT

  • Hold down  Shift.
  • Click or double-click the Firefox app icon.
  • Release  Shift when Firefox opens.
  • Click Start in Safe Mode when prompted.

Now, delete the History  & Cache files in Firefox /   See article at Mozilla      https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache

Next, get & install the Malwarebytes Browser Guard  Firefox extension.

Open this link in your Firefox browser:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/malwarebytes/

Then proceed with the setup.

That link is for English US.   There are other language version.  Just go to the very bottom right of the page and look at “Change language” list drop down.

.

I would like you to do a special Update on Malwarebytes for Windows & then do a special scan.

Start Malwarebytes.    Then click on the Settings icon  at top right.

Then look on the GENERAL tab.    Scroll down to " Beta Updates "  ( aggiornamento beta  )      and click that to the Right side   (  ON  ) .

Then scroll back up to the top at "Application Updates"   and click on the button " Check for Updates ".  ( ricerca aggiornamenti  )     Have patience   & follow all the prompts.

The latest Beta is Version 4.2.1.89

.

Once the update is completed,  we want to go to the main screen of the Malwarebytes program.

Now do a SCAN   in this way

Click Settings ( gear icon)   at the top right of Malwarebytes window.   We want to see the SETTINGS window.
Then click the SECURITY  tab.
Scroll down and lets be sure the line in SCAN OPTIONs for "Scan for rootkits" is ON
Click it to get it ON  if it does not show a blue-color
Now click the small X  to get back to the main menu window.

Click the SCAN button.
Select a Threat Scan ( which should be the default).
When the scan phase is done, be real sure you Review and have all detected lines items check-marked on each line on the left. That too is very critical.
Then click on Quarantine selected.

Be sure all items were removed.       Then, locate the Scan run report;  export out a copy;  & then attach in with your  reply.
See https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038479194-View-Reports-and-History-in-Malwarebytes-for-Windows-v4

We will do more after this.   Please continue to have patience.

There is no need t go to a website.      I sort of lost as to why yu mention " MB.com " ?

I do hope this thread is not going off field.   My last suggestions were to (  A  )  get the Malwarebytes Browser Guard for  Firefox  &  ( B  )   get the Malwarebytes for Windows on to the Beta version  &   {  C  }   run a special scan with Malwarebytes for Windows.

Please re=review   https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/263870-website-blocked-due-to-trojan/?do=findComment&comment=1407567

First, there is no need to press the ' Quote '  spot when you are starting a reply here on this forum.   Just go down to the very bottom  and start typing in the white box  at bottom.

You have the Support tool.   I would like to get a new fresh report.

open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
Double-click mb-support-1.7.0.827.exe  to run the report

Once it starts, you will see a first screen with 2 buttons.  Click the one on the left marked "I don't have an open support ticket".

Hello..   I regret that I did not spot your reply from yesterday afternoon.

I take your note from today to mean that the Firebox Malwarebytes Browser Guard is protecting that browser.

.

I  would suggest to download, Save, and then run Malwarebytes ADWCLEANER.
Please close Chrome and all other open web browsers after you have saved the Adwcleaner and before you start Adwcleaner scan.
Adwcleaner  detects factory Preinstalled applications too!

Please download  Malwarebytes AdwCleaner https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/adwcleaner

Be sure to Save the file first, to your system.  Saving to the Downloads folder should be the default on your system.

Go to the folder where you saved Adwcleaner. Double click Adwcleaner  to start it.
At the prompt for license agreement, review and then click on I agree.

You will then see a main screen for Adwcleaner. ( if you do not see it right away, minimized the other open windows, so you can see Adwcleaner).
Then click on Dashboard button.
Click the blue button "Scan Now".

allow it a few minutes to finish the Scan.   Let it remove what it finds.
NOTE:  When it comes to the section "
Pre-installed applications

You can skip that.
Please find and send the Adwcleaner "C" clean report.
In Adwcleaner, click the "Reports" button.  Look at the list of reports for the latest date & type "Clean".
Double Click that line & it will open in Notepad.   Save the file to your system and then Attach that with your reply.

That C clean report will be the one with the most recent Date and time at folder  C:\AdwCleaner\Logs
Thanks.  Keep me advised.

Hello.   Thank you for the Adwcleaner report.   It is a good one.

I am happy to have helped you.

These are to cleanup after the tools we used.

Delete   mb-support-1.7.0.827.exe

Delete mbst-grab-results.zip  on the Desktop

To remove the FRST  tool & its work files, do this.  Go to your  Downloads folder.  Do a RIGHT-click on FRSTENGLISH.exe & select RENAME & then change it to UNINSTALL.exe .
Then run that ( double click on it)  to begin the cleanup proceed.

.

Adwcleaner you should keep and run as warranted to check for adwares ( on-demand ).

Any other file I had you download you may delete.

I do wish you all the best.    🤑
