I need help getting rid of a threat

Recommended Posts

Hello justkidding324 and welcome to Malwarebytes,

There is no evidence of Malware or Infection showing in the FRST logs, what exactly do you believe is wrong with your PC..?

To get log from Malwarebytes > Open Malwarebytes > Select "Detection History" from GUI > scroll to and double click on the scan in question > then select "Export" > then "Export to Text" > name and save the text file, attach or copy/paste to your reply...

Thank you,

Kevin

Can you open Device Manager, then expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" are any on the list showing exclamation or question marks..? You could right click on each in turn and check for driver updates...

none have question marks and all drivers there are up to date

i can post what ive said in another thread to clear some things up

I've basically been all over the internet trying to find ways to fix this for the past week (i even wiped my hard drive and reinstalled windows) but i cant seem to find a fix. My keyboard and mouse will disconnect and reconnect with the windows sounds repeatedly within the same minute. my keyboard will choose not the press i key i pressed or even repeat a key like sticky keys. my mouse will appear at random points at the screen, click randomly, or not allow me to click at all until i repeatedly click ctrl, alt, del until i can use them again. the only thing that fixes this is during a malware scan being active (malwarebytes advanced scanning with rookits enabled so it lasts longer so i can use my peripherals longer). during the scan its like nothing ever happened and its back to normal, but when no scan is active or the application is closed, the events above occur. im confused as to why it only works when a scan is active and why i havent found anybody with a problem as specific as mine. the thing is after the advanced scan, nothing comes up except maybe a single PUP and i take action but nothing works.

Hiya justkidding324,

Open Device Manager, then expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" right click on each entry in turn > then select > "Properties" > then select > "Power management".

If the box is ticked for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" untick any entry that has the power management option...

Thank you,

Kevin

i attempted to plug my keyboard into different ports just in case my usb hub im using was faulty. the light on the port my keyboard using was flickering (it doesnt do that for any other port) 5 minutes now and i havent seen a problem

(morning after) i havent had any problems at all since i changed usb ports i believe it was just a technical problem that i hadnt had a chance to check before. i believe my problem is solved. thank you, and ill see if i can contribute to a donation.

Hello justkidding324,

Good to hear your system is working ok for you now....

Right click on FRST here: C:\Users\total\Downloads\FRST64.exe and rename uninstall.exe when complete right click on uninstall.exe and select "Run as Administrator"

If you do not see the .exe appended that is because file extensions are hidden, in that case just rename FRST64 to uninstall

That action will remove FRST and all created files and folders...

From there you should be good to go...
