Anyone seen the Archon Support fake AV/Junk File Remover? Had a client who got this recently, and we've removed the program from the computer. However it appears it left behind some proxy connections to a Boom Proxy.

Just wanted to know your guys thoughts on removing this. Currently the guys at our office are planning a reload of Windows. I kinda feel this is not needed.

Have you already tried both Malwarebytes (with rootkit scanning enabled) and ADWCleaner?  I would hope at least one of them would detect it.

I did a search for Archon on Malwarebytes Labs and the only result was this article, though I could not locate any mention of Archon specifically in the article itself.  I just thought it might be related if there is indeed some connection to it.
