Worth noting that "Use deep scanner during full scan" is enabled in this case scenario.

I just had a similar result. 34 found - scanned yesterday, found NONE - also, haven't installed anything in a day.

All apps were native on the phone, or installed from Play Store.

Yeah - this is weird.

Same here. Mine was fine until I got home and updated from home wifi. Scan after update showed most of my files as infected. So uninstalled and re downloaded. Updated and scanned again. Results in screenshot. Even poped up as this (2nd) when trying to add the screenshot

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing. 

24 legit apps are showing up with that PUP.Risktool.CallPlay.Io 

I haven't downloaded any apps since last year and my scans came back clean until 10 minutes ago

I have a feeling that this a false positive because this is wayyyy off XD

Open the Malwarebytes app, go to Settings -> Other -> Force update.

The issue is resolved now. Updated malware db is now live. v2020.08.14.02.
Please do a manual database update, Hamburger thingy in upper left > Settings > Other > Force Update.

This is not what we expect from Malwarebytes.

You should explain to us exactly what the problem was and how you will ensure it never happens again.

How many people woke up today to find 78 malwares reported?

How many dutifully tried to remove them, only to find they were "System apps" that needed to be ignored or "whitelisted"?

How many of your customers know what all of that means?

I rebooted and scanned again. I let Malwarebytes remove 23 of 77 (not 78 as reported the first scan) malwares.

I rebooted and scanned again - only 13 malwares reported.

Then I found the "Force Update" function, rebooted and scanned again - 0 malware.

So what 23 "malwares" did Malwarebytes remove earlier? How will that affect my phone? Were they real malware or was it "a mistake".

 

You must explain in detail before you lose a lot of credibility.

This is a sad day for Malwarebytes.
