reppose Posted August 8, 2020 ID:1399900 Share Posted August 8, 2020 My client's Weebly site, tony-caters.square.site, is tripping Malwarebytes (and apparently McAfee too) into not allowing access to the site. Browsers (Firefox, Edge, Chrome) all throw an SSL length error; Malwarebytes indicates a possible Trojan. See attached image for one pair of errors. I googled the issue, used the MWB removal tool to remove and reinstall MWB, but same thing. I've cleared my caches, rebooted the computer. Now I know it's not me because other users are getting the same -- but not all. All the errors appear on PCs; Mac users don't seem to be affected, nor does any phone yet (iPhone or Android). Those with errors had MWB, McAfee, or both. (I have only MWB.) Weebly tech support says they are sure that the security is fine, that the SSL is fine, and that they can't do any more on their end. I can of course get around this by adding the site to my MWB exceptions but what is tripping it in the first place? And moreover, is there anything you can do about it? It's not just about me; it's that I'm sending emails with links to the site to several thousand people. If in a test three of the seven of us got an error, that doesn't bode well for the future. They are probably false positives. There was another similar FP on a Weebly site a few days ago. It is the weekend so it will take some time to get it fixed.
