ErinW Posted July 12, 2020 ID:1394004 Share Posted July 12, 2020 I seem to have the same problem as: When I open the Excel application or any excel file, I get the following error: But the Domain provided is my email provider/server. AS suggested in the other person's post, I have run the support tool and gathered the logs. Attached. I have run an update to verify I am on the most current version: mbst-grab-results.zip
Maurice Naggar Posted July 12, 2020 ID:1394007 Share Posted July 12, 2020 Hi ErinW. The web protection is keep your system safe from potential harm. Were you by any stretch doing something to / for "telusplanet.net " ? I sort of think this Topic/post needs to be in another forum section.
Maurice Naggar Posted July 12, 2020 ID:1394009 Share Posted July 12, 2020 (edited) You did say " the Domain provided is my email provider/server." Thread moved to False Positive web bock. @ Staff please take a look mbst-grab on original post Edited July 12, 2020 by Maurice Naggar notes added
ErinW Posted July 12, 2020 Author ID:1394011 Share Posted July 12, 2020 I did not do anything but open MS Excel. All I am saying about the Domain it cites is I recognize it. Its not some foreign unknown website. This started July 1st but I have been using Malwarebytes for many years.
ErinW Posted July 12, 2020 Author ID:1394015 Share Posted July 12, 2020 If I sign out of MS Office and open Excel, I do not get the trojan warning. As soon as I log in to MS Office, I get the warning. Seems false, but should I just add an exclusion?
Maurice Naggar Posted July 12, 2020 ID:1394016 Share Posted July 12, 2020 I have moved your case over to the False Positive section so that the internal Malwarebytes web protection team will review the "block'. Meantime, since that address is your host ISP or host-email provider, next time you see a block just like that one, that lists "telusplanet.net" then click the button "Manage exclusions" so that address gets put into your local MB4 exception list. Yes, add the exclusion.
ErinW Posted July 12, 2020 Author ID:1394017 Share Posted July 12, 2020 Thank you. Added telusplanet.net as an exclusion. Noticed I also get the trojan warning when opening Word application, just hadn't done that since July 1st. Not sure what changed July 1. Upon checking looks like I updated to Windows 10, version 1909 (2) June 30. Did not have a problem before this.
Staff Solution Dashke Posted July 13, 2020 Staff Solution ID:1394050 Share Posted July 13, 2020 The website seems clean now so I will be removing the block. Thanks!
