Can't open mbam and get rid of Malware

Recommended Posts

Windows security center & Personal guard 2009 has got me good. I can't open malwarebytes or anything in my control panel. I'll dump them from processes and search and remove the files but they immediately pop back up. I tried to rename the Mbam.exe as another forum suggested and that didn't work. It said unable to rename file. I tried downloading it again and it just starts and closes in seconds. Now I have two or three malwarebytes downloaded in my computer and not only will they not open, i can't remove them either. Also, my icons won't appear on deskstop without running explorer exe everytime.

Please help if you can...Thanks

(I realize this is a free svc and I'm grateful but I posted this originally on 9/23 and it's 9/28 and no one respnded so I thought I'd post again even though I know your site suggest not to but I'm concerned that my 9/23 message was missed)

Welcome to Malwarebytes!!!! ;)

Download Combofix from any of the links below. You must rename it before saving it. Save it to your desktop.

Double click on Combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.

  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a HijackThis log so we can continue cleaning the system.
