Are these gamehacks (dll injections) malware? Or a False Positive?

Recommended Posts

If you're curious why I'm hacking in a multiplayer game, I lag with well over 300 ping due to their server locations. I feel as if I need a handicap of sorts to cope with the lag. That and the game is over 15-years-old.

The Hack comes from a modder from https://www.unknowncheats.me/forum/combat-arms/379525-simple-hack-combat-arms-reloaded.html

Malwarebytes detects the injector as Riskware.Injector.DC

In attachments I've included the ViP version, which is 10USD. The VIP rar contains the injector as well.

Are these files safe to use?

It is classified as Riskware, as do other AVs (https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/0ac3387b6e0283c972722c2a6664ee23ac5ba10640d18b827e8732f5c57e7d2c/detection).

From https://blog.malwarebytes.com/glossary/riskware/:

Riskware, or “risky software,” describes legitimate software programs that contain loopholes or vulnerabilities that can be exploited by hackers for malicious purposes.

You can add this file to your Allow List if you want to continue using it without it being detected.
