Firefox files constantly being detected as riskware

Recommended Posts

My installation of Firefox/Waterfox has been getting threat results lately, with the alert [RiskWare.MisusedLegit.E] constantly popping out. Are the files mozglue.dll and nss3.dll actually viruses, or not? Even the shortcuts to them are being detected as threats.

This is exactly what it says a misused legit file. For firefox/waterfox they should not be located here but in the program main directory. APPDATA\ROAMING\ is where malware that drops the files here and misuses legit firefox files for downloading or stealing passwords.

The correct location for these files should be here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

These should be fine to remove.
