Malwarebytes using 100% CPU resources

Recommended Posts

My HP Elitebook running Win7/64 had Malwarebytes Premium V4.0.1 installed and was experiencing random lockups where MBAM Service was sucking up 100% of CPU time.  This was more annoying than most malware, so I opted to deinstall Malwarebytes and take my chances with infections.  The infections are free while Malwarebytes charges me.

Hello @Xob

I'm sorry to hear that you were experiencing issues running our program. If resource usage was that high I expect you may have been experiencing a compatibility issue with some other antivirus program. If you'd like assistance in correcting any issues and getting the program running well please run the following scanner so that we can review what is currently running on your system and make suggestions.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system.
You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well.

Thank you
