That's what my MBAM Premium gives as a version as well. I'll try again today and see what it says.

No, I've left all that as is, so it's not checked. I'll post what I posted above in the false positives forum, although it doesn't have to do with the web protection component as far as I can see.

That's the strength of MPC, it plays virtually any format without the need to install any codecs or codec packs.

Never mind, I hunted down the installation program in the users/xxxx/AppData/Local/temp folder and it ran fine.  I suspect MBAM Premium just doesn't/didn't like the behavior by which you initiate the process while the old version of VLC Media player is running, and you tell the update program to close the current version and do the update.
