Sorry that Chrome continues to have issues.

The next thing I would like you to do is to run the cleanup tool from Chrome - https://www.google.com/chrome/cleanup-tool/
It is made specifically by Chrome to cleanup Chrome browser.

If running the cleanup tool for Chrome did not help the problem then I would like to reset chrome back to defaults.
Reset Chrome browser settings:

  • In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the "Chrome Menu" icon (Three horizontal lines)

  • Select "Settings".

  • At the bottom, click "advanced "

  • Scroll down until you see "Reset", Then click where it says "restore settings to their original defaults".

  • In the dialog that appears, click "Reset".

Close Chrome and restart it and check it out , please

Sincerely.

By suggestion  ( always ) is to be super-duper cautious,  especially on a result screen like the one above.  Do not click right away.  Stop / pause /  look real close

Hover the mouse pointer over the link  and wait and see what the link-address  is.

You have reported that you have done the Reset procedure in Chrome.

Now, lets go back in Chrome,  and make sure you delete all Cookies.

Clear  ( delete ) cookies & Cache

.

Now then,  this machine runs on Windows 10.  As a wholly separate test,  I would like for you to do a test with the EDGE browser   & then lets see if it has the same issues.

Edge is a good browser to use.

Hi.  I regret to hear that news.  About the only thing to do at this point, is, to do a very careful & thorough rebuild of Chrome ....that is if you do have to keep Chrome browser.

( you could just use the Edge or Firefox browser instead.)

You may want to make a backup of your system at this point   ( before proceeding with what follows).

This is the method to rebuild Chrome.  First save the existing Bookmarks.

Saving the existing Bookmarks in Chrome   ( so you may restore later on as needed):

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top-right, click More More.

  3. Select Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.

  4. At the top, click More More and then Export Bookmarks.

Chrome exports your bookmarks as an HTML file

.

Next save the Passwords.   This image is intended to provide a visual aid.

image.thumb.png.42c4dbbd38a2e60a6dde9ad094f0d420.png

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Profile Profileand then Passwords Passwords.
  3. Export: To the right of 'Saved passwords',    as shown in the picture above
  4. click  spot with the icon More      so that then you see More actions option
  5. then  and then Export passwords.

.

Now you need to uninstall Chrome

make sure to select the "Also delete your browsing data" tick box
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95319?hl=en-US

Re-install Chrome:
https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/

I do wish you well on this endeavor.  This here is the measure of last resort for Chrome.

Sincerely.

I would encourage doing what I last listed.

Then if no joy,  I suggest stop using Chrome browser  & instead use Edge browser.   or even get and use the Brave browser, which has some built-in anti-malvertising abilities.

The Brave browser is at https://brave.com/download/

Brave has version for Windows, Android, macOS, Linux
