'Last Scan Details' in Scanner Section Cannot Be Deleted

Recommended Posts

Malwarebytes Free

Version:  4.1.0.56

When I click on the 'Scanner' section, it brings up the 'last scan' details with the option to 'view report.'

When 'view report' is clicked, it shows the scan results and it can be closed but there is no option to delete it.

I have a monthly scan set for the first day of each month and obviously the last scan was today (May 1). I was able to delete today's scan details but not the details from Apr 1.

Am I missing something, is there a glitch, or can the previous month's details not be deleted?

Malwarebytes Support Tool - Advanced Options

This feature is designed for the following reasons:

  • For use when you are on the forums and need to provide logs for assistance
  • For use when you don't need or want to create a ticket with Malwarebytes

How to use the Advanced Options:

Spoiler
  1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.

  4. Navigate to the Advanced tab
  5. The Advanced menu page contains four categories:
    • Gather Logs: Collects troubleshooting information from the computer. As part of this process, Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) is run to perform a complete diagnosis. The information is saved to a file on the Desktop named mbst-grab-results.zip and can be added as an email attachment or uploaded to a forum post to assist with troubleshooting the issue at hand.
    • Clean: Performs an automated uninstallation of all Malwarebytes products installed to the computer and prompts to install the latest version of Malwarebytes for Windows afterwards. The Premium license key is backed up and reinstated. All user configurations and other data are removed. This process requires a reboot.
    •  Repair System: Includes various system-related repairs in case a Windows service is not functioning correctly that Malwarebytes for Windows is dependent on. It is not recommended to use any Repair System options unless instructed by a Malwarebytes Support agent.
    • Anonymously help the community by providing usage and threat statistics: Unchecking this option will prevent Malwarebytes Support Tool from sending anonymous telemetry data on usage of the program.
  6. To provide logs for review click the Gather Logs button
  7. Upon completion, click OK
  8. A file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your Desktop

  10. To uninstall all Malwarebytes Products, click the Clean button.
  11. Click the Yes button to proceed.
  12. Save all your work and click OK when you are ready to reboot.
  13. After the reboot, you will have the option to re-install the latest version of Malwarebytes for Windows.

The free version does not have scheduled scans. That is a premium only feature.

Portos:

The issue is not deleting a log report-I am aware how to do that.

On the opening page, it shows 'Detection History,' 'Scanner,' and 'Real Time Protection.'

When 'Scanner' is clicked, it brings up the 'Scanner,' 'Scan Schedule,' and 'Reports' tabs.

When 'Scanner' is clicked, it shows the 'Last Scan' details on the right side. The details are displayed for Apr 1.

Even if this section cannot be cleared, why wouldn't it show for May 1 since a scan was completed today?

As mentioned at the top of this thread, 'a scan is run on the first of each month.'

This section shows the most recent scan and likely cannot be deleted, which is fine, but it should show May 1 not Apr 1.

It is a minor issue but there is obviously a glitch.,

When I opened the program this morning, it showed that an automatic scan was completed today (May 1) and I was able to delete the log and report successfully-That is not the issue.

Can the section in question be deleted? If yes, what am I missing? If not, why wouldn't it show 'today's' scan instead of kast month's scan?

The log and report were deleted on Apr1, after the scan, meaning that the report section now shows as being empty but the 'most recent scan' is showing as Apr 1 not May 1 so I am stumped.

Exit MB from the system tray wait a bit for it to fully stop and reopen it.

I opened it through the desktop shortcut icon, closed it and waited a few mins but it still shows the stats for Apr 1.

There is obviously a glitch that is preventing the section from displaying the most recent monthly scan stats.

Hello @Happy78

I'm sorry but we really need the logs otherwise we cannot determine what is going on or what might be causing it.

Please follow the directions from the following KB article

Upload Malwarebytes Support Tool logs offline

You could also do the following which would remove all logs and history information and see if it happens again in the future or not.

Please do the following Uninstall and reinstall Malwarebytes using the Malwarebytes Support Tool

Please have lots of patience with the tool.  The first phase is a cleanup and does require a Windows Restart.
After the Restart, it may take 2 - 3 - 4 minutes till the Support tool screen shows up.   Please be patient and have faith.  Wait for it, whatever it takes.
The 2nd phase is where it offers to do a new Install.

But again, without logs we will probably close your topic soon as it just becomes a guessing game as to what is really going on.

Thank you

The important part is that today's scan, as scheduled, was completed and I was able to delete its report and log successfully,

There is a glitch with the 'most recent scan' stats because it shows last month's stats instead of this month's stats,

I quit the program through the system tray, as instructed, and just rebooted but it still shows last month's stats.

This glitch is a minor issue, since it is administrative not functional, but please forward it to the developers nonetheless.
