lauwer1000 Posted April 10, 2020 ID:1372157 Share Posted April 10, 2020 Hi, so i just factory reset my pc today. i went to install malwarebytes through bing.... the first result was an add which i didn't know at the time. when i clicked it, it gave me a 404 adress (website link here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/lp/sem/en/sem2.htm?msclkid=1f62c0dc34a91333a7b49e4c329bd084&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=US-EN-Search-B2C-Brand-Malwarebytes-Exact&utm_term=malwarebytes&utm_content=Brand%7CMalwarebytes)... I just want to make sure that this was a dead link for some reason. I heard that there was very recently a fake website that would put malware/viruses on the computer..... i just want to make sure this wasn't one of those sites. Please forgive me i am a complete malware/virus noob. i put some screenshots below. I just don't know anything and i don't want to have accidentally infected my pc just after reseting it :/
exile360 Posted April 10, 2020 ID:1372158 Share Posted April 10, 2020 Yep, it's fine. It looks like an old ad page that no longer exists since the site was last updated a while back which is why it pulls a 404. It is Malwarebytes' website though so you don't have to worry about any sort of infection. If there's anything else we can help with please let us know.
