PUP.Optional.SearchManager.BITSRST keeps returning

Recommended Posts

Dear Malwarebytes Support-Team,

I've already delved into solutions and topics on the "PUP.Optional.SearchManager.BITSRST" - Threat.

Steps I've taken so far:
*) Removed Chrome and all data along with it
*) Deleted all Google-related local appdata (Folders+Files)
*) Ran Malwarebytes (Free Version) several Types, always able to quarantize the same files

After reinstalling Chrome, the issues returned magically (fresh installer downloader just 30 mins ago), so I've read that scanning with FBRS and submitting both logs (MWB + FBRS Logs) will help to get a needed fixlist.

In my case, the FBRS-Scan is still running (it seems like it's stuck, I'll give it some more time), so I'll make sure to submit both logs just after these taken measures are completed.

Thank you for your help and attention in advance!

Regards,
Jake

Thank you for your quick reply!

Unfortunately, the "Run FRST" - Step takes quite a while, so I will report back, as soon as the Log-Steps are finished.

I'm sorry, I guess I hardly handed out important information!
The MBST is running but still working on the second step" Run FRST", instead of finishing up with "zip logs/save logs", so I'm still stuck in that process (might take a while, since I'm having 2 SSDs (1 TB and 250 GB), as well as a 1 TB HDD.

Here's an image of the current step I'm stuck at

PS: I only started the FRST after the MBST was stuck on this step for 2 hours, totally clueless to be honest

Killed the additional instance of FRST, there's a FRST.txt left behind, as well as an Addition.txt, not sure if they will help or if they're done.

The MBST is still running in the "Run FRST" step - I guess having it running for another hour should be plenty of time for it to finish, otherwise there's some bigger issue I guess?

I am afraid that MB support tool is mandatory. You can kill FRST process from Task Manager during run FRST step of MBST. It will gather other required reports instead.
