Mbam Premium 4.1.0 Crashes when Trying to Access the Scanner

Recommended Posts

I just started having a problem with Mbam Premium 4.1.0 crashing whenever I try to access the scanner or manually initiate a scan.

I have run the Malwarebytes Support tool, cleaning, rebooting and reinstalling three times, all with the same result.  The problem remains.

I have attached the problem signature, and the mbst-grab-results.

Please let me know if you can help me solve this problem.

Thank you.

Hello @mfsan

Please try running the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool and simply don't reinstall Norton. There are drivers from a previous installation on the system it looks like. I wouldn't expect that to be an issue but let's start there please.

Then from an elevated admin command prompt type in and run the following to ensure the Operating System files are all valid.

SFC /SCANNOW

Thanks

Thank you for your patience @mfsan . I was able to research and find the issue. There is a conflict with Dell Backup and Recovery v 1.8 which you have on your system. That is a very old version. If you're not using it you can uninstall it and that should resolve the issue.

If you are using it then I'd suggest upgrading it to a more recent release version

If you're not backing up your data and you're still using Google Chrome then you're just not serious about Privacy, Safety, and protecting your data. Malwarebytes is a fantastic program but you still need to back up your data and you still need to block scripts and Ads in your browser.
If you're still using Google Chrome I would highly suggest you consider using Firefox instead. For more advanced users you might consider installing NoScript as well (it does have a higher learning curve though)
